Prevention Roundtable

RAYSAC coordinates this annual event focused on the latest in substance abuse prevention and opioid addiction education. We strive to promote innovation and community collaboration to prevent addiction and invite speakers and educators to bring cutting edge substance use prevention information to our attendees.

OpioidWISE

An educational program that began in response to many troubling overdose stories from high schools across Virginia, that has evolved to address middle school age, high school age, and even adults with facts and safety information about the risks involved with opioids and counterfeit medications. DEA National Drug Take Back

RAYSAC helps raise community awareness of the dangers of prescription drug abuse and supports proper disposal of unwanted medications.

Red Ribbon Week

A national coordination of drug prevention awareness activities in the Roanoke Valley every October. RAYSAC is the proud sponsor of valley-wide contests and programs involving several school districts in our area.

Coalition Meetings

We meet on the second Thursday of every month at 3:30pm, via Zoom. A group of community members, partners, and stakeholders who have joined RAYSAC to actively participate in community prevention efforts. We would love to have you join us.

Youth Membership

RAYSAC encourages teens to take a stake in their own health and wellness, and our programs all include youth input and participation where applicable. After school, youth are encouraged to join our coalition meetings every second Thursday from 3:30 – 4:30pm. If you or your teen is interested, click the “Join Us” tab in the dropdown menu and mention that you are a youth interested in our program.
