In 2010, RAYSAC and the Western Virginia Water Authority partnered to address the environmental and health risks involved in the improper disposal and misuse of prescription drugs, an issue that impacts our entire community. The task force includes individuals from the following areas: nursing, medicine, pharmaceutical, education, substance abuse prevention, substance abuse treatment, law enforcement, fire and emergency services, waste management, environmental protection, parents, grandparents and concerned citizens.  For more information about opioid abuse in the Roanoke Valley, click here.
