Welcome to RAYSAC!
Our efforts and resources are focused primarily on educating and mobilizing our communities, parents, and youth about the problem of youth substance abuse, and underage drinking in the Roanoke Valley.
The Roanoke Area Youth Substance Abuse Coalition is dedicated to reducing substance abuse among our youth. One of our objectives is the development of a focused, research based, strategic prevention plan specific to the needs of the youth in the Roanoke Valley.

September is National Recovery Month. The observance of Recovery Month serves to educate the public on substance abuse as a national health crisis, that addiction is a treatable disease, and that recovery is possible. Recovery Month highlights the benefits of treatment for not only the affected individual, but for their family, friends, workplace, and society as a whole. Accurate knowledge of the disease helps people to understand the importance of supporting both prevention and treatment programs.
