The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

The next National DEA Take Back is Saturday, April 28th, from 10am-2pm in the Roanoke Valley. Simply bring your medications (no needles, please) to this event where they can be safely collected and destroyed by local law enforcement and DEA agents. Volunteers from the Western Virginia Water Authority, RAYSAC and area law enforcement officers will be on hand to provide convenient parking lot collection locations around the valley.  All medication collected is safely burned in the state’s incinerator – protecting our environment and our community!  No appointment is necessary. Locations to be announced soon!!! Check back here!!For information about the Prescription Drug Task Force, click here.
